Independence Fishing Program

"Honoring disabled veterans who gave of themselves in the name of Freedom"

The “Independence” program consists of our daily (by Appointment) trips for those who qualify. Utlizing our two vessels the 49 foot (Defever)"Independence, and the 60 Foot ( Pacifica ) Vessel "Freedom. Both boats are available for fishing trips, spreading of ashes (with military honors), sightseeing, boating safety courses, whale watching, and marine environmental education. These boats are owned and operated by Monterey Bay Veterans Inc.

If you would like to schedule a trip please call our office to make an appointment. There is no charge for any disabled veteran wishing to utilize this service. However, if you wish to send a donation to our organization please click on the Donations Page in the menu. Any and all donations are acknowledged and gratefully accepted.

We have created a way for our services to be utilized up and down the coast of California by initiating a program called the “Freedom Tour.”  The tour travels to various ports of call up and down the coast. We offer the same programs that are held in Monterey , such as sports fishing, boating safety courses, scattering of ashes at sea with military honors, whale watching, and marine environmental education. The stops include:

Northern California :

Napa

Alameda/Oakland

San Francisco

Southern California :

Morro Bay

Ventura

Marina Del Ray

Newport Beach

San Diego
